Hi I got a corn yesterday & it's very overweight. 1084g!! What would be the best way for him.to lose it?? His previous owner was feeding 1 large mouse every 3 days, the mice he gave me look really fat. Should I feed him every 14 days on 1 large mouse or once a week on a smaller mouse?? All advice welcome. I'll be doing exercises everyday (going up & down the stairs & swimming). Is everyday too much??

Wow - that's quite a feeding regime it had there! Thank goodness it's found an owner with a bit more sense :)

One mouse a fortnight would be a maintenance diet for most of mine (some need even less), so I'd be inclined to be even more conservative. Maybe one small mouse a fortnight, or one large mouse every three weeks.

That's how much my Brazilian Rainbow Boa weighs right now  I'd listen to Bitsy on this one.

I'm going to try everything to make him a heathly weight again, so long as it's not stressfull to the snake. he could well be a Boa in Corns clothing!! :)

1st day of exercise started today, he/she's been up & down the stairs. :) I think i'll put him on smaller mice & gradually increase over time. thanks for the advice.

I remember runnung the stairs for swimming back in high school, not fun times. But maybe a snake likes it better ^^ I guess that would be slithering instead on running :p
