Personalities

I have two baby male corns and they are great (Mitch and Jake), but i have noticed something...

Mitch is a lot more active that Jake is. Mitch crawls and climbs around almost all day and night, even when fed, but Jake sits under his hide all day, does a lap of th viv and goes back under, obviously he gets a drink as well.

My mate said that its is just the two snakes different personalities. Is this actually true and they do have personalities that are so noticable or is something wrong with Jake???

My 2 snakes were the same way. One has always been more active. He's always "out and about". The other is more shy, but I've noticed that lately she seems more comfortable and has started moving about more often. I guess you could say that it's their personalities.

I wouldn't worry too much as long as the snake is eating and is healthy. Hiding is also a defense mechanism, baby's hide to avoid predators. As soon as your snake feels comfortable and realizes that he's not in danger, you should see him become more active.

Boy if Hiding is a defense mechanism. My little corn would be eatin. He is always out. Today he burrowed through the sub and then stuck his head out about 2 inches while I was cleaning my bedroom even watched me vacuum. Ever sence I got him He HAS to know what is going on around the room.

I chose the snake I got because she was so much more laid back than the other one I looked at. I think some are just more shy than others.

Our two snakes have very different personalities. Our Anery has been very relaxed since day one, but will immediately detour to the nearest hide for some privacy if you spot him out and about. Our Okeetee, on the other hand, is a much more nervous critter. Oddly enough when we catch her out and about she'll freeze for moment and then go about her business and never hides when spotted during her crepusculous hours.

They're all different...

Cheers,
Jason

jake proply just doesnt feel comfterble yet, when did get them? and are they living together? if they are mitch could be more dominent then jake so jake could feel threatend. i have also heard from several people that putting two corns together is not such a hot idea especially if the are both males, one could end up in the other ones belly because they are cannaballistic. if u just got the snakes a short while ago then jake might not feel acustomed to the cage just yet:cheers:
