PetSmart

I don't know. I know that Petco does. The petsmart in my area JUST got snakes. Balls and a milk no corns.

I bought a corn snake from a petstore instead of online because I thought it would be cheaper (no shipping). Then my "cheap" snake turned out to be sick and had to go to the vet (another $71 for the exam and meds). If I ever buy another corn snake, I plan on buying from reputable breeder online. Seriously.

Pet stores are NOT good places to buy from. All of the ones in my area house many snakes in the same tank. It's a breeding ground for sickness and disease.

The one by my house does have a few corns once in a while.

Rick, I know that they are "supposed" to have them out here at Petsmart sometimes, but they don't seem to have the faintest clue, even compared to some of the people at Petco. My theory is to try and find a breeder somewhere near you (even if it's a drive) and get to know them. That being said, my favorite snake (my snow, Zen) is one that I fell in love with at Petco. He's beautiful, but my slowest growing. My hypo is also from there, and we've thought about changing her name to "Hogzilla" because of how she eats.
If you don't have a good breeder near you, I would say your best bet is to just pay for the shipping, unless you're willing to take your chances.
Sorry if that's not too helpful. Just my opinion.

1) why don't you call them and ask? It would be more productive than posting here, you can look up the yellow pages online and find their number.

2) don't by a cornsnake from petco if you don't have too. They care about profits more than the health of their animals. Try and find a local breeder, get in contact with your local herp club (if there is one) and they can point you in the right direction.

They Sell them Here for sure! although I wouldn't recommend buying one from them.

They actually Sell alot of different Snakes here cause when pet smart took over Super Pet they took alot of the animals that they will never be able to sell.

Petsmart definitely sells corn snakes here... for pretty cheap, too. But I wouldn't ever buy a pet from petsmart, atleast not this one. They are likely to be sick, along with most of their other animals and birds. Talk to Breeders & Reptile rescues for a nice snake!

Some do, and some don't. You'd have to check your local one to see if they do.

However, I'll add my two cents in to all the people here. Most people seem to be commenting on the health of the animals, but also keep in mind that big box pet stores are not very knowledgable, only in it to make money, and therefor may (probably) unknowingly, rip you off.

Be vary wary of buying any specific morph if you don't know exactly what to look for in them.
Pet stores will sell regular amels as candy canes, or normals as Okeetees, for example, trying to lure people in with fancy names.
You may think you can save money, but you really gotta know what to watch out for. Gotta make sure the snake is healthy so you don't have any unexpected vet bills, and gotta know the pet store isn't ripping you off.

I have never seen a corn for less money at a petstore than getting it from a breeder. I had a petstore corn and he was great but it cost me almost 4 times as much as it did at the breeders. Wholesale retail i guess.... I dont have alot of positive things to say about petstores, large chains or small shops around here anyways.

Petsmart does but they under feed to keep them small and cute. They over price in my opinion. I got my mormal corn from a reptile show and paid $10 petsmart wants $30-$40 for the same type. A breeder is better. They can tell you when they last ate, what they eat(size wise) and how often the currently eat. I knew when my little Isabella hatched ( the exact month not day) Places like petsmart and petco can't give you any of that information and 99 percent of the time they lie to make the sale. If you want a snake that is great from the start go to a breeder or reptile show near you. Even if its a bit of a drive it is so worth it in the long run.

Or at the VERY least, see if there is a small like "mom and pop" petstore near you that takes good care of their animals. I sell some of my not so expensive corns and bearded dragons to a local petstore and I know they are treated well there. You might have better luck at a smaller chain, or something like that. My local small petstore was the only one in town for YEARS until last year a PetCo was built. I still tend to shop from the small one though, better quality. And when they have a special request, they usually go through me, lol- they know I can get "the good stuff" online, and for cheaper then their usual middleman. You never know if your local breeders might supply the smaller stores anyway.

All my mom and pop stores sell their snakes for way more than petco/petsmart and they look just about as underfed.
Just saying.

We only have one small mom/pop store around here and I felt comfortable buying not one, but two Sunglows from them. The first one was a steal, since he was just learning about cornsnake morphs then. I paid more for the second one, but it was still cheaper than going through a breeder when you added the cost of shipping in.

I probably won't buy anything else from him snake wise, simply because he won't have what I want.

I have a lot of respect for him as his first love is Igunas and he refuses to sell then now, because the majority of folks refuse to do the research to understand just how big they get and how much care they will require in the near future.

I can vouche for the bad conditions of Petco/Petsmart. I got my very first cornsnake there, and from the day that I first tried feeding him it was a living hell. He was way too small, way too skinny, developed an infestation of mites, and after getting rid of the mites and many attempts to feed him (including actual force feedings), he died on me. Keep in mind this is 4 months of on and off mite treatments, 4 months worth of wasted pinky mice, and eventually I had to buy a pinky pump that I was able to use once and haven't used since(those aren't the cheapest things you can buy). Just for one snake I got at a pet store, none the wiser. Not all pet stores are bad though. But the chain stores like petco are quanity over quality.

Yeah I agree with pretty much everyone. I bough a striped snow from a local reptile shop, and it died a few months later. She had no signs of mites and she was feeding like a champ and all but she upped and died one day when I looked in her cage to pick her up. IMO, get a snake on here. Theres some good people on here who know what they are doing. The girl I bought through a local breeder on here is still doing good to this day and now pushing 300g :). Shes definately going to kick me out a clutch next year. I hope for it to be a good one too! Best of luck. I hope this helped.

ok i got my first baby corn snake from one of my friends that didnt want it anymore. So im not worried about parasites because hes an experienced breeder.
