Here's my snake:D . I got the shots like an hour ago. Any ideas on the sex? Also, when i took him out, he was really mellow and not jumpy. Does this mean he's getting used to my scent?

beautiful little amel. :) I'm waiting for my amel het blizzards to come in from Rich this month. being patient is not one of my virtues, I'm afraid. so I'm busying myself getting ready for breeding next season! planning and scheming! ;) babies, babies, babies! :D

Beautiful!

Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to tell the gender of a young snake just by looking at it (even if we could see the tail). It's not even an accurate way of sexing one even when it is an adult.

I think Link is a cute name...I have always liked the game Zelda. Is that where you got the name from?

Yeah, I got the name from Zelda as I have been addicted since it came out on nintendo lol. I just took him out again. He's really seemed to calm down when I handle him. Maybe he's getting to know my scent or possibly something to do with him finally have eaten? Is there somewhere I could learn how to "pop" them on the internet? I looked in every book store around here but to no avail could not get a copy of the corn snake manual. I'd really like to know soon as possible as I'd like to get a mate for him/her. I was thinking of an orange creamsicle. I saw some pictures of them and was just awe struck. I must have one now lol.:p

For the manuel try Amazon.com, they're relatively cheap.

Your corn is so teeny weeny, I almost forgot how small they start out as! : ) congrats! I like the name Link, short and sweet.

Lol, yea he small I suppose. He's bigger than the other two snakes I had (timber rattler and ribbon snake). I've seen some pictures of some huuuuge corns and I hope he grows to 5 ft. Would be really cool:D . But patience is a very slow virtue lol. I'm going to buy the corn snake manual asap.

The Corn Snake Manual

doesn't really show how to pop. I personally thin it is best not to try to pop them unless you have an experienced person teach you how to do it. It can harm the snake and cause it to be infertile if done wrong. Is there a reptile vet in your area? If so, then they may be able to probe it for you.

I have 1.4 creamsicles. I agree that they are quite beautiful. I have one that is really pretty. Here is a picture of her...

It is always hard to get a good picture of her because her base color is so light. Here is another picture of her with another one of my creamsicles for comparison. Both of them are 2002 creams, by the way. Big difference in size, huh?

These are considered to be "yellow" creamsicles.

don't forget that creamsicles aren't purebred corns!

and speaking of hybrids...anyone know what would happen if I crossed my lucistic texas rat with one of my corns (say Anery maybe?)? I don't know too much about this type of genetics...

I think I can remember a post on that, and I also think they turned out really ugly!

I could be wrong though.

What is lucistic?
