Can newborn pinkies go straight to the freezer or would that be inhumane? If not how can I kill them without being inhumane without using dry ice method.

Then I take an icetray, fill each block 2/3 with the ice water, and drop the pinks in there. The reason why I use ice water is because it freezes them a lot faster than if you just put them in the freezer. This way they're usually dead within 20-30 seconds.

The pink is scared the moment you take it from it's mother. As for pain, death by hypothermia isn't painful for them because it is too fast. They are so small that they cannot generate enough heat on their own to survive, and would freeze to death at room temperature if left alone. Flash-freezing it would be the quickest and cleanest way to kill them, once they grow fur, then it takes too long and becomes inhumane.cncslick said:ok that may be true but its still inhumane. even if death is in 20-30 seconds the pinky is in horrible pain and very scared during those 20-30 seconds. while crushing its brain kills it instintly. how would you rather die????
