Pippies! (DUW)

SNOW!!!!
Well, there's a little bit of a story behind these guys...I only put mom and dad together twice, both are 3 years old and were virgins, and there was never any evidence of a hook up. They never appeared to go near each other, they were always sulking in opposite corners of their breeding tub. About 28 days after the first time they were together, mom gave me 10 good looking eggs (no prelay shed, didn't appear gravid, nothing). I didn't have a ton of hope for them, but incubation seemed to be going along just fine...hope grew. :) Well, on day 52, I decided to check on them and was greeted by a nose! It took 3 days for everyone to pip and emerge, and I haven't gotten a chance to take individual photos yet, but here are some from pipping and one from the tub they were all in while I set up delis and popped them all.

Mom and dad are an anery stripe het hypo and a ghost het stripe, so theoretically I should have seen 1/4 each of anery, ghost, anery stripe, and ghost stripe....not at all what showed up. Final total is seven ghost stripes (4 female, 3 males) and one each of anery (male), ghost (female), and anery stripe (male). The stripes seem to have taken after their mother, who is actually a vanishing pattern stripe (she really only has striping the first few inches of her body).

Enjoy! :)

WOW...I love them! Boy now that you see an anery stripe vs a ghost stripe right out of the egg, they are both a lot lighter than one would tend to think.

Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful babies!! Love the ghost stripes.

SO CUTE!!!!

Thanks!!

Thanks, I was shocked at how light the ghost stripes were too! The anery stripe wasn't too surprising, as mom is fairly light colored as well.

With those odds, I'm taking you to Vegas! Pretty little critters you've got there.

Heck, if you're paying, I'm down! Let's go! :D Thank you Josh.

Lovely, especially the aneries!

Thanks Betsy! :)

Those are some BEAUTIFUL babies! Sweet nails too!!!

Oh, and thanks for the help today!

Congratulations, Hallie! Those are gorgeous babies! Do all the ghosties have the same eye color?

What lovely little babies! Congratulations on a lovely bunch of surprises. Mom and Dad obviously had the breeding business figured out, just liked their privacy.
