Please..advice...leopard gecko

Kilala

lemme go! I'm sleeping!
Here's a scenario for you:

Dexter (leopard gecko) won't drink water. Eats fine. Was showing signs of dehydration. Took him to 4 vets. All said he was fine except for the dehydration. Multiple fecal tests. All said gecko is fine (except for dehydration).

After I rehydrated him (using a few drops of gatorade in a dixie cup full of water...used an eyedropper to administer the solution) I found a new way to get him to drink. Once in awhile, I use an eyedropper to pour water droplets down his throat. He doesn't like it.

Gecko is no longer dehydrated. In fact, he's in prime condition now (according to the latest vet). Still, I must use the eyedropper method to get him to drink, otherwise he starts to show signs of dehydration. He still doesn't like it.

Any thoughts? Am I doing the right thing?

Well I don't ever see my geckos drink.
But whenever I spray their humid hides (after putting them in it) they've been known to lick the droplets off themselves. Especially if you get it around their face.

Hey, corny noob! you just helped me out with an idea!

Instead of putting the dropper in his mouth, I put a droplet of water on his lips and he drank it! I got him licking the droplets like on a water bottle. He drank the whole eyedropper like that. Maybe he's getting used to the whole procedure?

Yay!
Glad to hear that it helped, like I said I find that they don't feel they're being forced into drinking for my benifit when they're really just licking themselves clean :)
Go Dexter keep drinking!
