hey guys i was hoping you guys/gals would be so kind as to help ID the morph of my two snakes. I've been told that the first(kaa) is def. motley by one shop just for the next to tell me she is def caramel. Yes i have asked about her once before but she was about to shed then so you couldn't really see her colors as good.
Also, any ideas on what i would get if i breed the two?

Kaa, she has no checkering on her belly

Fred, he has black alternating checkering

Kaa is a motley. Doesn't look caramel to me, though. I'd say it is either a normal motley or a hypo motley.

Fred looks like an anery

normal motley x anery = 100% normals het for motley and anery

hypo motley x anery = 100% normals het for motley, anery, and hypo

If they have any hidden hets you might get other results, but those won't be known until they hatch.

Thanks :) doesn't sound like it would be a very interesting breeding pair. what could i breed kaa with that wouldn't give me just a bunch of normals running around?
hypo means no black, correct?

You would need to get another hypo to breed her with. Even better to get another Hypo Motley. That is if she is truly a Hypo aren't genetics fun!:crazy02:Here is a pic of my Female Hypo Motley and my Normal Female Motley. Just for reference!

Hypo means less black, not necessarily NO black. And the Motley gene also greatly reduces the black on snakes, also attributes to the lack of belly checkers. The only way you could get babies from her that weren't normal color would be if she had a HETerozygous trait. For example (I agree with ZooligyGirl that you have a normal motley and an Anery) if your normal was het for anery, she would have some normal and some anery babies. if that makes sense, the hets of your female would have to match the morph or the hets of the male.

Kaa looks like a normal motley to me, no indication that she's hypo at all, IMO.
