This baby was out of her egg with a few other siblings this morning. She's got an/some unexpected gene(s) and I need some opinions.

Mom was Amel Motley het Lavender and dad was Hypo Lavender het Amel and Anery.

I suspected dad might be het motley due to his pattern. Note: he HAS belly checks.

Here's Mom and Dad:

So far in the clutch I've got a normal, an amel, 2 amel mots, 2 opal mots, a lavender mot and a normal mot, AND THIS ONE:

I think she is at least opal stripe. Maybe Hypo Opal Stripe??? Here's what I'd also like help with...what this makes mom and dad!

To get a stripe out of this clutch, wouldn't mom have to be Mot/Stripe (motley het stripe...one motley allele and one stripe allele...however people say it :/ ) and dad het Stripe (dad has belly checks)?

I'm looking forward to seeing what she looks like after she sheds, but don't opal stripes look a little lighter? I searched hypo opal stripe online and she looks closer to those pics. Could mom be het hypo also?

What do you think?

Thanks in advance!

Wow those are nice pips. I say it looks opal. Im not a expert on genetics but just wanted to say awesome babies the parents are great looking to and the Lav does look motley to me. Good Luck

Hypo lavender stripe female: (hope you get some of these too!!) This is a darker one, with a more prominent pattern. You can find HLSs that are solid pink.

There is just no way you could mistake opal for this. I believe your baby is at least opal stripe, if not hypo.

Nanci,
Thanks so much for all of the photos!!! I am really looking forward to seeing what the opal stipe looks like once she sheds and comparing her to your photos.

I will definitely post pics of all the babies once they are all out. I've got some really great motley patterns in this bunch. I am just thrilled with how this clutch came out :)

A comparison just came out of egg :)

This little lady just came out of her egg! So I took some comparison shots. What do you guys think? Is one hypo???

Some of the babies in the clutch, including these two, have that dry shed look to them. Hope they do all right.
