I got my snake two weeks ago, and I looked really closely at his eyes, and realized, one of my snakes eyes are cloudy, but not the other? I know that snakes eyes get cloudy when they are going to shed, but isn't it usually both of them? Do you know what this is?

Oh, also, it has been like this since I got him. He is about 5 years old. The person who had him before me said he shed fairly recently before I got him.

I am actually having the exact same problem. I believe mine could be due to a bad shed but I haven't had my snake for more than a week, should I spray down the Viv for a few days and hope and pray that it clears up or what? Here's a few pictures. Three of his cloudy eye and one of his what I believe to be healthy eye.

Well so then not EXACT problem as mine is only 3 months old and I have no record of his past sheds if any. So this is very mysterious to me and I'd really like to resolve this issue cause I'm a worry wart and I just really want to like stop stressing over the snake and just relax and know he's all set up and fine and I can chill and enjoy him being my pet.

Warthog32332: yeah I don't know about the humidity. I hope someone else knows what this is, I can't find any information online.

Since the pics are blurry and none posted by Asher9 I can only speculate by what you described. As long as one is dull but not blue in color both of your snakes probably have a stuck eye scale. One blue and one clear would indicate a damaged eye.
This is why I recommend always checking the shed head piece to make sure the eye scales came off. I realize you both didn't have the snake when it shed.
DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE IT PHYSICALLY! You can do more damage than good. Keep the humidity up be spraying and keep a moist hide in the tank. Chances are both will rub the scale off in time. If not then the next shed should remove it. Make sure on the next shed the eye scales came off with the headpiece. No Worries ! It happens :)

Thank you so much daddio207! If I would have to remove it, how would I do that?

My advice is to go to a reptile vet first.
Like I said, the stuck eye scale will most likely come off from the snake rubbing it on surfaces and if it doesn't then it will most likely come off with the next shed.

ADULT SNAKE ONLY !!! Not the hatchling !!!
I will tell you one way just because it can do little damage but beyond this one method you could do MAJOR damage to the eye. Take a spray bottle (new uncontaminated ) and fill it with room temp water only. set it on stream instead of spray and aim right at the eye at an ANGLE and spray from about 6+ inches. It's more about TAKING YOUR TIME NOT PRESSURE!!!
ADULT SNAKE ONLY !!!! Not the hatchling !!

I highly recommend being patient and seeing if the snake removes it on it own.

I found a you-tube Vid (Not me LOL )

You don't "Have to remove it." Why would you?

This happens in nature all the time. It will work itself out. You can do serious damage to your snake by acting as if you're a vet.
