Please poop!

Hey all, from what I hear this is a pretty common problem, but my corn /never/ poops in her tank. It's to the point where she will refuse to poop for a week if I don't take her out. Even then sometimes, she refuses to poop then, and I have to keep taking her out every few hours until she does.

I've also noticed that she tends to poop twice after every meal, first poop happens after the normal 48-or-so hours in solitary, then I take her out and usually, with out much trouble, she does her thing.
However, after a day or a few, I see that telltale (see what I did there?) lump near her end-side, and she's ready to pass again. This time, it's never simple. She seems intent on holding it in until she decides she's in danger (She pooped on a friend of mine, we figured he moved too suddenly and scared her), or occasionally on my lap before going to sleep :shrugs:

Can holding it in for 5 days hurt the snake? I'm trying my best to create ideal conditions (I take her out of her tank and put her into a box. I wash the box after every poop), but she seems so stubborn.
Any tips for getting snakes to poop? What do you do to encourage pooping?

Sorry for the... messy topic :p Any help/opinions are appreciated!

I wouldn't be too concerned if a snake hadn't pooped for at least a week after a meal. It does depend a little on the size/age of the snake, but an adult can definitely go at least a week and I have several hatchlings that don't poop in the containers but wait instead until I put them in their feeding tub to poop. Some people will let their snake swim in some barely lukewarm water to make them poop. You may want to try that as soon as you take your snake out to be handled...make it go poop in an easily cleaned bath instead of your lap. A simple special plastic tub will work just fine (with a lid so you don't have to watch). You don't need to use your bathtub. ;)

On the other hand, at least you know it's a poop and not a regurge! I'm getting all stressed out since my hatchling's regurge and scrutinizing and wondering "well, it doesn't look like the poops I've seen so far. wth is it?"
