advice

hiya.

listen,i dont want to scare you or anything, but i lost an adult male corn after feeding it a re-thawed mouse, if its advice you want, i would dispose of the mouse and buy or beg another, i will NEVER feed my snakes re-thawed food again EVER, its not worth the risk, i mean, it may be ok but then again it may not and if you lost your snake then you would ask yourself, why the hell did i do that,GET ANOTHER MOUSE mate......

MICE

HIYA ABU.

I breed my own and when freezing place them in an old ice cream tub and place directely in freezer this ensures they are fresh and keep their shape, if your supplier can only give you flat mice i would seriosly think about getting them somewhere else or you could send away for some from breeders in you area, i live in the uk so i cant help you out with breeders info in your area sorry.............

mice

hiya.

Where you from mate? is there any way you can breed mice yourself ?you only need a small tank with lid 1 male 2,3 or 4 females,as long as they are warm they will breed all year round and if you on have 1 or 2 snakes you should be able to breed enough pinkies to keep your snakes without needing to buy any.....

uae

i live in the uae ..dubai....small country...very nice...but very hot....eah anyways u think i should try feeding my snake that mouse.........is soo hard going to the pet store...but my normal corn costs 300$ man

I WOULD SAY

ABSOLUTELY NOT, NO WAY,NEVER YOUR SNAKE CAN GO SEVERAL WEEKS WITHOUT FOOD AS LONG AS IT HAS FRESH WATER ,SO I SAY NO DONT FEED IT THE FLAT MOUSE UNLESS IT HAS ONLY BEEN FROZEN ONCE.....

.......................HOPE THIS HELPS MAN...STEVE.

You have nothing to worry about man,my female has not eaten for 5 weeks and 2 days, i say wait till you can get another mouse and dont feed the flat one.......

P.S very nice looking snake..........

hey man u got msn or yahoo

its like we r chatting here ...but slow connection...like...so it wil lbe easier if i chat with u ...

Imay have read ir wrong, but...

Abu, did you say that you put the mouse in the freezer alive? That is a very painful way for it to die. The two most humane methods of killing feeder mice are cervical dislocation and gassing with CO2.

To answer your original question, a mouse that has taken on a new shape after being frozen won't harm your snake. This is, of course, assuming that the mouse was only frozen once.

abu

if you get live mice then when you get home all you would have to do is kill the mouse. you dont nessaraily have to freeze it. just kill it and feed it. i wont tell you how to kill it because that is a very touchy matter in this forum. this elimantes the squished mouse problem.
