Poo question! (lol)

My friend has a hatchling that had 2 pinkies a week to a week and a half ago and said today she was cleaning and found poo that had a real dark red color to it. Is this normal?

It may be normal. I've never really taken a good look at the exact color of most of my snakes' poo, but dark red is a possibility considering the diet. I would just keep a close eye on the hatchling to make sure everything else if fine and check what the next poo looks like.

if its just a "normal" looking brown poo then yes it should be fine. Thats normally the colour for hatchlings

It wasn't brown it was more dark red. She said it looked kinda like the color of blood. Was it maybe the pinkie she fed it?

Pooh, like beauty, is subjective. Without a picture of the pooh, it's really hard to say. Blood is not normal in feces. Period. Please post a pooh picture : ) We can help you then.

If your friend is concerned, she/he should join the forum. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. : )

She doesn't have a computer, or camera...but i will tell her to keep an eye on it

The only thing that sort of worries me is regurges tend to be a brownish red color. Ask her, did it smell musky like snake poo or horrible and rotten?

She said it wasn't regurge, it was tubular like poo. I wished I could have got a picture of it so we would be sure to what it is. But thank you guys so much for your responses and help:)
