Popping noise

When I hold my snake and she slithers through my fingers, I sometimes hear a popping noise like a knuckle cracking. I'm not sure what's causing it. The sound seems to come when she flexes at about the start of the lower third of her body, but I'm not sure.

Is this something to worry about, or just an oddity? She seems to be acting normally, not particularly aggressive or fearful, and she's been eating healthily.

A popping noise could be a couple things. One thing to watch for is bubbles from her nose, or excess fluid buildup in her mouth, those can indicate a possible respiratory infection. If you see those signs, get her to a reptile vet asap. RI's can kill a snake & can very easily spread to other reptiles.

Another possibility is that she could be in shed. Sometimes, loose shed in the nose can make a popping noise when they breathe.

Keep an eye on her & see if there's changes in behaviour or eating habits as well.
