When is it too late to pop your snake? I heard there is a certain age or length where it can be dangerous to pop them and you should only prob them. When is that?
I was thinking the same thing. I am picking up a yearling anery motley sunday and the person doesn't know the sex. I would be scared to probe it as a yearling, I have never probed any snake under 2' but thats just because I am scared to hurt it since usually my hatchlings (pythons) are about that size out of the egg.
I just recently attempted popping on my 4 month old. Nothing came out, but I could see two little red dots where the hemipenes might be, but they didn't pop out. Could it be male and I'm not putting on enough pressure, or female, or just undetermined?
