Possible regurge

Moved my 18" amel up to a peach fuzzy on sat 2/25. He was previously on 3 day pinks. Today I find poop in a corner and what looks like half of the fuzzy across the tub. I have been trying to move his meals up in size since late dec, but everytime I give him anything more than 2-3 day pink, he regurges. I tried 2 pinks, he digested one and regurged the second 3 days later. This regurge happened on Jan 8. I have fed him one 2-3 day pink since then with no problems. So I tried a 5-6 day old peach fuzzy on 2/25 and he apparently pooped half and regurged half today.

I have 2 other females in the same rack. One has been eating peach fuzzies since 2/10, the other since 1/14. Neither of these have had any regurge problems.

Temps are kept at 82-85 and 70-75 using a thermostat.

I don't really want to leave him on pinkies but it looks like I may have to for awhile yet.

Any other suggestions???

I don't really have a lot of ideas, but two do come to mind.

1) Do you currently slice the backs of your prey items (if you feed f/t)? If not, it could help the digestion process along.

2) Maybe try a little Nutribac if you haven't.

The only other road would be to just go slow and feed at a pace that he can easily handle even if it takes longer. It may be that he needs slightly warmer temps then his rackmates. :shrugs: It seems that sometimes they don't all thrive under exactly the same conditions, although most of the time they do.

I had forgotten about the slicing back thing. Thanks for reminding me. I did do that when I first got them back in October but haven't done it in awhile.

Another question, since he pooped and regurged should I still wait the full 10 days before another feed. I was thinking I should, but just want some other opinions.

Yeah, definitely wait the full 10 days. As far as I know they, like us, they can't selectively regurge only 'x' amount of something. When they do it, they go all the way and everything comes up. So, even if it is "half" or a "partial" regurge it still depletes their stomachs of the beneficial bacteria (etc) that they need to digest prey items.
