I was handling my snake the last night and noticed something kind of strange. Towards the tail end of his body, maybe the last 3" or so, some of the scales look gray and washed out, not as colorful as the rest, but it isn't all the scales either.

I looked at it closer and I didn't see anything moving around, or any black dots, but basically scales that were just gray next to the regular red and orange scales.

There is the same thing making a nearly perfect checkerboard pattern on his belly.

Would this be feces that I can see from the outside, or just a natural part of his pattern?? I haven't noticed it before, but I wasn't looking for it, so I could have just missed it.

He just shed yesterday, and it was a complete shed, no noticable holes in the shed or anything.

It is just like the color of the scales gets "washed out" toward the end of his body, but his head and first half of his body are very vivid.

I will work on getting pics soon.
