Last Saturday i attended Flamingo Gardens Reptile Expo & Sale and had a most wondeful time. It was a small one but I couldn't complain. No joke there were only FOUR corn snakes at the entire show. Two babies (Amel Bloodred and Butter) and two 1 year olds. (Normal and Sunglow (who got sold) I checked out the normal and became very attached to him and almost brought him home. Well enough blabing on here her is. Enjoy! =]

Lol, there he is. Sorry! ^^'

I agree, he may have had all sorts of creepy crawlies that he may have given to your snakes... :(

hmm, well he would have been my first and only snake. I wouldn't have though that he was under weight. Well thanks for the observation. I was obviously lied to when I was told he was in good health. >_>

See that horrible spinal ridge and triangular shape? A healthy corn should never look like that. Hes terribly skinny...

I see. I believe the guy who was selling said he was being fed on hoppers. I guess that's not good for a year old snake then?
That makes me wonder about my friends snake now.

Aww poor baby. D: I didn't notice that he was skinny either.
Even when I was holding him, he felt okay and was active enough to seem healthy.

Wasn't he the one that had the food in his belly, too?

o_O

Well, he is definitely underweight...VERY underweight...poor thing.

Hoppers are the right size prey for a snake that size but how often he was being fed them is another story...also, because he is so thin, there is a very strong possiblity that he has all sorts of internal parasites and nasty tummy bugs...I can promise you that a snake that thin is ALWAYS sick...poor boy.... :(

I saw one that thin for sale at a petshop a while back and I NEARLY brought it home with me but decided against it due to the risk to my other snakes (even though it would be in quarenteen)...it died the next day... :(

I'm sorry to say that they probably fed him so that he would look a bit more filled out than he actually is...

A snake that has just been fed should not be handled in any case...

Gee, this really breaks my heart to see... :(

My snake eats hoppers and hes only 10 mos old..almost same age, so its the right size. But Im sure they wouldnt tell you how often he was eating them. Or maybe he was eating them and he did in fact have internal parasites that were taking all of his nutrients. Poor little snake..

And if they were a responsible and knowledgeable snake breeder they wouldnt have fed the snake right before a show knowing that people will be holding it!!! They should never be held for at least 48 hrs after eating.
