Progression thread: Flower, 2014 Peppermint

ceduke

Female Wiccan Heretic!!
I thought it might be nice if Flower had a progression thread. Shiari came by today and pointed out to me that Flower is actually male, but I'm keeping his name. She was also kind enough to bring over a black marble tile and take some better pictures!

Here are my two favorites from the day I got him home:

Here are some of the shots Megan got today:

He ate for me today, I'll update again after he sheds!

What a pretty boy! I think Flower in the movie Bambi was a boy. I'd really like to get a peppermint someday.

I can't wait to watch him color up. I love peppermints! And I think Flower is a great name for a boy... I agree, my first thought was Bambi's Flower was a boy I'm pretty sure. What a pretty snake, congratulations!

Thank you! I just cleaned his cage and was struck again by how handsome he is!

Flower shed this morning, and he was feeling plenty frisky, so I took loads of pics and hardly got any worth sharing.....oh well! He tore a scale off of the top of his head recently, I'm hoping it grows back in with a few more sheds!!

I couldn't find my blue bowl, so I made do with a green one!

Not an especially good photo of Flower, but I like the way it turned out anyways!

It's neat/creepy to be able to see his heart.

Hey ceduke!
I just purchased a male 2015 peppermint and I am absolutely in love! I'm hoping you get this, because I am really curious as to how Flower has progressed over the last months.
Hope to hear from you and see some updated pics of Mr. Flower! :)

Flower, now named Menthe to compliment Piperita, now lives with me. He ate on Saturday, so I'll try to get some photos tomorrow. He's still very, VERY, low red.

Oh awesome can't wait to see them! I just got my pepp in the mail. I actually really like the ones with just a light flaking of red :D

Here is Menthe doing his "I'm a snow!" impression. This snake IS a peppermint though.

I have no doubt that red will bleed through the more he sheds. Have a feeling my male will look this same way for a while. Time will tell :)

No, I don't think it will actually. My other peppermint, Piperita, is a low-red as well but has significantly more than Menthe. Just as some cinders show pretty much no red, and others are full of it.

This is Peppy, my 2014 peppermint. His red is coming through little by little. Yes small for his age, being hatched Sept. 2014 I thought he'd be bigger by now. He did refuse to eat for the first 2 months of life so maybe he'll hit a growth spurt soon :)
I'm expecting 1.1 2015 peppermints from Carol at lowbellyreptiles (I just realized yesterday she was the first to hatch out the peppermint morph so I'm very excited to own two from the maker herself!) And they are BEAUTIFUL animals I'm just stunned by the amount of red they have.
