question about feedings

TaraRawr

Learning so much!
Okay so my little guy (or girl) is growing. He is eating f/t pinkies, one every 4 days or so. He always eats great, but now, he seems like he is getting big for the pinkies. I have quite a few pinkies left in the freezer that I'd like to use before moving him to the next size up. I'd say that he is about as thick as the pinkie. When he eats, there really is no bump anymore. Usually after he eats, he is immediately active. Now my question is, should I start offering double pinkies? And if so, should I still be offering as often as I am now? I definitely do not want to overfeed, but I don't want to underfeed either...

Do you have a scale to weight the snake?
Some people follow the Munson Plan:
**It is a good "guide" to follow.

-When they're on single pinks (2-3g), I feed every 5-6 days. (Snake = 4-15g)
-Double pinks (3g x 2) every 5-6 days. (Snake = 16-23g)
-Small fuzzies (5-7g) every 6-7 days. (Snake = 24-30g)
-Regular fuzzies (7-9g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 30-50g)
-Hoppers (9-12g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 51-90g)
-Weaned (14-20g) every 7 days (Snake = 91-170g)
-Adult (20-30g) every 7-x days (Snake = 170+) See below.

Note: Adult females are fed more frequently than adult males (especially following brumation). Adult females are fed every 7-12 days; adult males are fed every 11-14 days.

I do not, but it seems like a good investment. Do you just use something like a digital kitchen scale?? Thanks so much for the information! It is much appreciated :)

I started my snake (Whissper) on pinkies and then went up to 2 pinkies when his weight had increased. He had no problems going to two and now has just gone up to fuzzies as per the Munson Plan. I was a little worried when he went up to the fuzzies but it just took a bit longer for him to eat.

Make sure you get a scale that has a resolution of 0.1g or greater - many kitchen scales sold in stores only have a 1g resolution (I know this after returning two different kitchen scales last week) - which isn't going to work too well on baby corns. Try amazon.com - something like this:
