Question About Temporary Housing

Hi, everyone. I am having a bit of a problem. Zanjibil's tank lid is broken. The screen at the top is tearing off. I was keeping it closed and holding it down with a rolled towel and some heavy objects, but the screen has been steadily weakening, and now it's completely broken and Zanji has managed to escape two nights in a row. On Sunday, the guy I bought the tank from is bringing a new lid and screen, but until then I need to keep Zanji safe. I am wondering, first, how long I can keep him in his much smaller travel cage, where he is presently contentedly curled, and how I can make sure he gets enough water while we are waiting. I cannot fit his heavy water bowl in the travel cage, and I am afraid he'd knock over a small bowl. Does anyone have any advice?

I am also wondering if I can try to fix the screen myself with superglue. If I wait until it is completely dry before putting Z in the cage, is there any way it can hurt him?

At Walmart, you can buy an 18gal tub for about 5$ and just use a knife and keep spinning the knife until it makes a small whole, do this all around the top of the lid. A lot of breeders use them has permanent cages so until you can fix the top of your old cage, it'll do nicely.. also you can go to Petco or Petsmart and buy just a replacement lid for your viv for about 20$ - I used the tub for about a week while I was getting a divider in my cage to separate the 2 corns I have... hope that helps..

Well since you only have one day left(I misread your post) He would be alright in the travel cage, I would only put water in there for part of the day and keep an eye on it, but when you go to bed or have to leave him unattended I'd remove the water dish.
Although, having one of those tubs from Walmart is ALWAYS a great idea to have as a back-up for times like this!
