Question about the buying/selling of venomous snakes...

I was searching the net for some good websites to check out their inventory of corns. I came across one that has baby alligators, baby cottonmouths, and an albino monocaled cobra for sell. My question is this. I thought it was illegal to sell poisonous animals to the public? Alligators have only recently moved off the threatened list and I'm pretty sure that any cobra is probably pretty scarce, much less an albino. Anyone know for sure?

Every state has different laws about Venomous reptiles.
And Albino Monocled Cobras seem to be fairly common actually.

In Florida...

You can possess any venomous reptile with the proper license. You can possess an alligator if you use it for educational purposes. As far as buying and selling, it can be done. Fish and Game will usually look the other way as long as you're not grossing a huge amount. Doesn't mean they are not going to pay attention to you if you possess either license.
And they are pretty cheap. $100 (I remember when it was $5) and 1000 hours experience for the venomous, and $50 dollars and proper cage requirements for the gator.

As far as other states-
Back in the eighties there use to be an "understanding." The law had read you can't molest or feed a WILD alligator. So if you lived in Washington and had an alligator you obviously didn't go out and catch it. So they would look the other way. I don't know if that holds true today. At the Reptile Shack here in Lakeland they will sell you a gator with the proper educational license.
