Question for the Fed Ex Certified People

This is the first year breeding corns with a partner (who is a contributing member) and I had some Fed Ex Questions.

In the account setup, it asks for an account type personal or buisness. This is our first year and it may be the only year breeding depending on the turnout; what do you all reccommend or select when applying for an accoun(business or personal)? Please feel free to PM me as well.

Also, I have instructions on how to get Fed Ex Certified from two other sources (one being fauna), is there one on Cornsnakes.com that is more detailed or is this the guide everyone follows.

Under shipping name, is there anyone who has a partner 50-50 that has two names on the account. If so, do you have to register under business to get this privilege?

One more question, Is there a way to change the login name on fedex or should I re-register for another account. Right now, I am registered under a personal account.

Sorry for the questions, we just want a smooth certification process.

It doesn't seem to matter. I've done both. Do a BUSINESS and then multiple peopel can ship as employees...or at least it's been OK for US that way. personal account means you and only you....or that's how it seemed. I closed the personal and kept just the business one years ago.

Certification to ship reptiles is tied to an account - NOT a person. The best option is to EACH get your own account - or let one person be the shipper - and have the other person ship for his business. I've got friends and a wife that'll ship for me under my business account with no problems. I'm approved under that account. If you have 2 accounts, approval on one doesn't mean you are approved on the second one. you'd have to go through the entire mess twice - once for each account.

Yes, but I only know how to do it on the phone. Call them. They can do those things EASILY. They've helped me a lot. I don't think you can do it online. PLUS, if you sign up for a new one online, you might see both when you log in (I did), and they'll stop a package if you accidentally ship under the account that is NOT approved. Can you guess why I canceled one of mine now? LOL.

My mistake, it was.

Thank you for your reply. Do you or anyone know of a link on here where there is a detailed how to list or is everyone following the fauna how to get fed ex certified?

If I recall, the thread on Fauna was the original and anything over here will just be a copy of that. I actually used the article in the cornsnake newsletter, which is also directly from the Fauna thread, although modified/abbreviated a little.

I followed the info on the Fauna thread when I got certified several years ago, and had no problems. The only thing that took a while was to get an actual rep. But that was quite a few years ago, so things may have changed a little.

Yeah, they've changed...

Several years ago when I originally got certified, it was a two week process. Last summer I somehow became "de-certified" and had to do it again. Took almost 10 weeks!! I lost a lot of sales because I couldn't ship for most of the summer. So definitely do it sooner than later!
