Hi I am looking in to rescuing a new corn snake who is three years old, I already have a much smaller one who is still a wee one I just wondered if they would be ok to mingle they would be housed separate but I would like to get them both out together would this be safe? X

:p x

Edit: Okay, I see you aren't housing them together. There is really no reason to allow the snakes to mingle. They don't care, or even like it.

Additionally, you need to quarantine the new snake for a minimum of 3-6 months. In this time period, you need to be VERY careful about contaminating your original snake with anything touched by the new snake, or by you after handling the new snake.

^^^^^^^^^^Yup, yup and yup. Mine are almost never out at the same time, except when I took a group photo once. I do rescues, so someone (or two, or three) are always in other rooms for quarantine.

Like Nanci said, they don't care, there is no proof that they enjoy it, so why chance it? If you want to take some pics in the future after the new kid has completed quarantine, have someone else there to take the pics so you can safely "wrangle". No reason to give them a chance to turn on one another.

And good for you on adopting an older one!
