i have read through alot of posts in this forum but i couldn't get answer for this question. what happens to a dented egg? i read that humidity causes it and that some people with a couple of days manage to rehydrate them. what i want to know is if the eggs are fertile and are kept in moist vermiculite at 82-88 degrees but some are dented what happens? will the egg colapse? do they hatch? are they deformed?

also how do u tell if an egg is swollen and what happens to them then?

thank you

Well I don't have any expirience on the topic bt with wat I read dents in eggs are not a problem. Spraying water at the eggs might hydrate them. If the egg has a yellowish brown or wet look it might be unfertile. That's all I can say u can wait for someone more expirience to correct me and give u some facts.

It is normal for corn eggs to dent in during the last few days of incuation before they hatch - nothing to be concerned about and an indication that development is proceeding normally.

Denting earlier during incubation can indicate that humidity is too low and can be increased by adding water to the substrate (I would avoid spraying directly on the eggs - corns are pretty resiliant but in some species it can result in problems) or by using an incubation method that gives you a saturated environment around the eggs (incubating over water).
