Weight loss is rarely a "good" sign unless it's associated with brumation/breeding (EX: female just laid a clutch, male off feed during breeding). It can be especially dangerous in a hatchling since they don't have much to lose in the first place.

Your snake sounds like it is a hatchling by your description. You did not mention how much and how often it is eating. The cooler temps you were keeping it at will have affected it's digestion and may be the cause of the weight loss, and now that it is warmer and probably more active, the weight loss may have accellerated temporarily until it can compensate with better digestion and more food. You should take it to a vet just to rule out any other possible causes, but as long as it is eating well and regularly and is healthy otherwise, it should put weight back on and grow for you.

And just a reminder, snakes can grow at different rates. I have an '02 female that was extremely tiny at hatching but ate every meal. However, she remained very tiny for over a year. In fact, when my '03 clutches had hatched, several of the largest of these hatchlings were bigger than she was! She finally had a big growth spurt that started late last summer and now she has almost caught up to the smallest of the rest of my '02 corns.
