Questions about first shed

Hello all! We've had our corn for about a month now, he's about seven months old and is doing great - eating and pooping like clockwork, and very good with being handled.

Yesterday I noticed his eyes have clouded over and his scales are looking dull, so I know he's getting ready to shed. Taking advice from what I've read in the forum, I've made sure the humidity is good (about 60%), and we'll leave him alone while he does his business.

My question really is about time...how long does the process normally take? And how do I know when he's fully done?

Thanks

Casey

Generally takes about a week-ish for them to shed. They turn opaque (that clouded over look), then they turn clear, then they shed. If the snake is clear, but you don't see a shed, wait a few days, they will shed. Look for a fully intact shed skin. Check the head area & look for the eyecaps. One problem that occationally occures is retained eye caps, where that skin stays on the eyes. This can cause a problem. Most of the time, the sheds are just fine.
