Quick question about snow corns.

Hey everyone. I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this question, so forgive me if I'm wrong.

I have a young snow corn; ~7 months old. About 2 weeks ago, after his last shed, I noticed that he has extremely bright lime green borders surrounding his pink saddles as well as bright yellow behind his jaw bones and throughout the scales on his belly.

Is this normal for all snow corns as they grow? :shrugs: This is my first snow, so I'm pretty new with the changes they go through. Any information would be awesome.

Thanks guys!

Happy herpin'.

It sounds normal. As they grow, all corns will experience color changes with each shed. My snow corn has alot of yellow along its neck, that was never there when he was younger and only started coming in when he was around 9 months or so. I have seen pictures where some snow corns develop green outlines on there saddles. so this too is normal. And the colors will continue changing. :)

Yes, that is normal for your snow. Some have more pinks, others yellows, and some have the greens. They may be white but they sure are not all alike in coloration. We have a 5 yr old snow that is was from an opal project and he has lots of pink shades and yellow down his neck. Yet our female snow is younger only 3 yrs old and she is very light pink! And her yellow is on her nose and down her neck; much more than his! If you search some of the sites that the big breeders have, you will see the difference better. If you get a chance, post some pics of him for us to see!
Good luck!

Thanks for the quick replies guys! I appreciate all the information. I can't wait to watch him grow and what sort of rainbow colors he develops.

My stoneage digital camera won't capture his colors. He turns out all white in photos. But the next time he's out stretching his "legs", I'll do that. ;)

Thanks again!
