Quick question bout temp...

Hi,
Where abouts in the vivarium should the temp be measured? Should i be measuring general air temp or should i put the themomter closer to the substrate as this is where my corn spends most of his time?
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks :)

both.

Get a digital thermometer from radioshack or walmart. Stick the probe under the substrate, right over the heater. At the absolute hottest spot your snake would be able to get to. Then place the thermometer on the cool side of the tank. It will show you both what the temp is above the heat mat, and the air temp.
