DDD: JOSH! Omg, I am so, so sorry!!!
I knew Kilo was acting funny, but I never thought she'd die!!
:(

I'm sorry Josh.. I'm really sorry. I know how much you loved that little snake. She's in snakie heaven now, which is also mouse hell.

Make sure Bell-boa doesn't start acting funny too. If Kilo was sick, Bell-boa might catch what she had. :(

I'm so sorry Josh.. This really sucks. I wish there was something I could do.
Some day, when I'm a big fancy-pants breeder, I'm going to give you your avalanche free of charge. :(

(((Hugs)))

I'm very sorry for your loss Josh!
After seeing the pictures, I was left wondering about the colored newspaper you were using for it. Have you research if they are okay? I've heard color inks have heavy metals that can be poisonous for little critters. Just my $0.02.
Again, RIP Kilo!

JP, I've used colored newspaper periodicly to line the bottom of the viv. I usually have substrate ontop of it, but not always. I've never had any problems. :shrugs:

Good observation though.

Josh, did you save Kilo's body? If you take it to the vet, they can tell you how she died.

Sorry for the death. Check your temps, though. Snakes dead in water bowls should always make one think of heating problems. It might help avoid a problem with the next one. Of course, I miss the referenced thread where it was "acting funny," so I may be missing an important part of the story.

Modern ink isn't like the colored stuff that was so dangerous to snakes a couple of decades ago.

KJ, it was in chat. She had been sitting with her tail up for an extended period. I thought it was constipation, so I told him to give her a bath. He did that, and apparently it wasn't constipation. :shrugs:

I know Josh recently got an RTB and the temperatures were up to the low 90s-high 80s, but I think he took care of that rather quickly. He was having some humidity problems. :shrugs:

I think Kilo was acting odd before any of this happened though, I could be wrong. :(

RIP little Kilo.

sorry for your loss,:( wish you lived closer I would have thrown you a hatchling in the spring

thank you really appreciate the thought.. my mom wants to find me another creamsicle that looks just like kilo but cant seem to find any

kilo was given to me as a none feeder (probally has alot to do with it ) she ate couple times for me i dunno why she died ill never know why she died but she will always be remember as she was my first snake and got me over my fears of snakes ILY kilo

I think sometimes, maybe a lot of the time, non-feeders are that way for a reason. You probably did nothing wrong.

thanks nancy i hope i did nothing wrong that would kill me inside even more .. i got her to eat couple times but for 2-3 weeks she was refusing food

Ahhh, well. At least you tried. Who knows since she wasn't a "feeder", anyway. Sorry, but there may have been nothing you could have done. Don't let it get you too down. Clean the cage so nothing could survive to potentially infect another one JUST in case, and get a new pet to enjoy!

thanks kjun i just bought a RTB 4 days ago so iv been looking after him and all its kinda got me down but i would rather kilo not live than live a painful life
