Racers and coachwhips....

MegF.

That's for sale???
I got these from a friend at the last Repticon and finally got a chance to shoot some outdoor photos of them.
Ricky Racer is a little less sweet than he was when I got him but still far and away the least bitey racer I've ever encountered.

Speedy the Coachwhip is a sweet girl. Very nervous as most of the coachwhips are, but has not once attempted to bite.

They are. I've only found one here and it was DOR....full sized adult....made me so sad to find it. Right in front of the church in their driveway....of course.....

Nice! I find them both pretty regularly here. Most of them are pretty nasty, but I did catch a small baby coachwhip that was quite calm and made no attempt to bite, I was pretty surprised. I must have found at least ten coachwhips this year.

I find racers all the time and every one of them tries to eat you. I haven't come across a live coachwhip yet. Wish I did...they are probably the prettiest snakes around...mine is a Florida coachwhip...a little different looking than our native eastern here.

I live in Central Florida, Highlands county, really rural area where I am, so I see them frequently. I have posted a few pics of the ones I have found on here. My youngest son thought it was hysterical when I was photographing one and it lunged straight at my crotch, I did not find it as funny as he did, but I did get some great pics before he had enough.

They will bite if they feel threatened. My coachwhip is very good...she doesn't bite at all. Can't say the same for my racer but he's not as bad as some of them!
