Rack temps

hey all i built a rack and i am useing 4 inch flexwatt on it going across the back of each tub. My rack is 7 28 qt tubs high my temps on my bottom tubs wont go any higher then 76 now my temps on my top tub get up to 86 i have a helix with the probe in the middle tub with substrate and no snake. Usually set to 84 but i have had it set to 86 today to see if that helps the bottom tubs and it don't help much so i put it on 85 now heat rises and all so I'm guessing that thats whats going on in this case anyone else have any suggestions ?

Have you tried putting the Helix probe in different tubs to see if that makes a difference?

Well, for a 28qt rack, you should have 11" flexwatt, not 4". I would also recommend running a 12" section of flexwatt underneath each tub.

I'm trying putting the probe in the bottom tub ...and my 4 inch is going across the back of each tub 2 feet across each one so basically the same as having 11 inch

However it's not "basically the same" as having belly heat. In my racks (I have 32qt, 7 high) I've found that useing belly heat makes it easier to provide the correct temperature gradient regardless of tub level in the rack system.
