Rainbow boa

Just wondering what does a baby rainbow boa go for. Also would it be cheaper to to buy one through a online breeder, or wait for like a reptile show.

Some where around $250 sounds about right. i'd rather wait until the show because then you don't have to play for shipping, you can get a good look at the boa an make sure its healthy, and you may be able to get a good deal on it or get the vendor to lower the price a little.

I'd say a good price range is about $100-200 ($100-150 being most common) for a baby brazilian rainbow boa depending on where you get it. That's not including shipping. I don't know what the prices would be a for a peruvian or colombian rainbow, sorry.

Also...you would save money by buying at a reptile show because you wouldn't have to pay shipping, but they don't always have them there either. You could always check.

Hope this helps!

You can get them that cheap! Everywhere I go I've never seen one for less then $200! Damn, if I new that I would've gotten one myself awhile ago!

Yep! Are you going to stores or breeders online? There are two names that come highly recommended for rainbows...Jeff Clark and Dave Colling (Rainbows R Us). A friend got their rainbow from Jeff Clark for about $150 if I remember correctly. I suppose it depends on the individual animal, what time you buy it, etc. I think they got theirs in November maybe? If you check out Rainbows r us, you can see some go for $175.

Oh wait...I take that back...I think he might have paid $200 or something for her. I think I said $150 because when I was looking for them, I saw some for $150 or $175 on the rainbows r us website. I'll have to ask him later to make sure. The males are cheaper..

I noticed you were from MA, I would recommend calling Zoo Creatures (it's the shop below N.E.R.D). That's where I got my BRB, and she is excellent. I bought her a few years ago for $250, but I had to have her, and that was by far my most expensive snake purchase. I've seen them for sale at the New England Reptile Expo as well, there were quite a few that were in the $125-$150 range. But I would still recommend calling the reptile place I mentioned, I'm not sure if they are known for BRB's, but I haven't seen a friendlier and nice looking snake than the one I got from them. But call first, they might not have any.
Also, I'm not sure what type of Rainbow Boa you were interested in, I assumed Brazilian, but their are others. You can get Columbian Rainbow Boas for around $60-$75, but they aren't colorful like the Brazilian's (more brown, but still nice looking).
Good luck with your search!!!

For an average BRB from a breeder I'd say the average price I've seen is $125-$175. Of course if you're looking at petstores the price is going to be more. When you get into fancier BRB's the price is also going to be more...such as high reds, pearls, bullseyes, anery's, etc...
