Hi there, Im a new owner of a 2 or 3 month old Snow Corn who is a healthy snake. Shes pretty friendly and is doing as well as a new snake in a new snake can do. I just want make sure that Im not over worrying. She loves to hide by burrowing under the aspen and Ive never seen her touch the water. Is she most likely searching at night and drinking then as well? She ate on Monday and I got her on Sunday and the lump is moving down perfectly. Is she just shy right now and should I just let her be for a couple days? Its not that I want to hold her and smother her, Im just worried. This isnt just a pet for me its something that Im committed to and Ive wanted a snake since I was about 4. I hope Im doing this right but let me know so I can do a better job. Thanks everyone.

Yeah everything you stated is fine.
You let the snake be for 48 hours after you feed it.

The only time my snake drinks is when she is just about to shed and I put her by her water bowl. My snake used to stay in a hide box for up to 3 days without moving; they only usually move to change their body temperature. Don't worry about it, you seem to be doing really well so far :D

She is drinking more than that. If she wasn't, she'd have died of dehydration by now. You just haven't seen her yet.

I don't think I've ever seen my snakes drinking. I just put them in the water dish when I put them back- just in case. For the newer ones. It's normal for her to be reclusive after eating, and especially since just moving in. For days! When i got Inez I didn't see her for days, and then just for seconds at a time. I've had her almost a month now, and only now is she comfortable enough to be out climbing- as long as she doesn't think anyone is watching her.

I offer water to Hokie whenever I return him to his cage. 1 out of 3 times he'll drink while I hold him. It is, without a doubt, the cutest thing in the world. :santa:

The first day I brought my snake home I held her over her water dish as I was putting her into the tank. She started drinking right away. Not surprising after seeing the tank set up she came from :eek1:
Now,,since then,,I have not seen her drink once.Sometimes when I check the temp gage at night,I'll shine a little light in the tank. She is almost always crawling around. No doubt quenching her thirst some time in the night  .
