RE: Is flake shedding??

Had flake out last night but her colouring has changed!! she now looks brown instead of orange! is this because she is shedding? as I have said before I am new to all this, so if she is what about feeding, and how long will this go on for? :dunce:

My Flakes is an amel so when he sheds he lightens up rather than turns darker but I always use the eyes as a great indication. if she is fully in blue they will cloud over. About 24 to 48 hours before she sheds they will clear and then you will know the shed is iminent. As for feeding I personally do not feed once the eyes are blue. I have done & my snake takes the food lovely but on both occasions I have fed him whilst in blue he has had a bad shed. Yet when I dont feed his shed is perfect. This is just my opion I know lots of people on here continue to feed with no problems at all. Some snakes will not take food during blue. hope this helps a little. :)

I have a Candy Cane & he turns pinkish & after he sheds he is red & white again. So I go by the coloring of skin as well as eyes now. Its only been my 4th shed, but I look for him to hide for a few days when he is in blue (cloudy eyes). He has red eyes & they do get a milky film over them. I now just leave him alone for a few days & when his eyes clear, he sheds w/in 4 days.

HTH :)

Just wanted to add. I agree w/ Jillie it has also been my experience to wait & fed after the shed. I had a bad shed in the beginning I believe it was do to him eating while in blue (at the time I had no clue) :shrugs:

Yeah I definetly think she might be shedding am gonna call the rescue centre I got her from to see if they can tell me when she last shed.
