Really active after a good meal?

Clueless Corn lover
Hi guys,

I fed Marmite a fuzzy this evening which left a reasonable sized lump yet she refuses to curl up in her warm hide like she usually would. Instead she's hauling this lump around her viv and up the vines:shrugs:. I know this isn't typical normal, even for her. Any ideas? I thought she might be male but surely she'd refuse the food if she/he was feeling the effects spring.

Does anyone else's corn do that or she just strange?

My girl will do this from time to time. I think it means she wants more. She eventually settles down and caves herself for 3 days. Sometimes, it will take an hour to do so.

Sometimes they're just greedy... If you know you've fed an appropriately sized prey item, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the replies. She eventually settled down over 3 hours later. I guess I was just worried that all the activity would cause another regurge. This was only her second full size meal after she regurged about a month ago, so even if she does want more, she'll have to put on a few more grams first. Thanks again.

Some of mine- especially Choco- stay active like that for an hour or two- they seem like they are still in hunting mode. Eventually the go off to digest.

Hi Nanci,

I think that you might be right. She is out again already tonight. I'm thinking the fuzzies aren't big enough. They are only 5g so I'll see if I can get any bigger ones this weekend. Either that or she's just strange. But that I can live with.

I agree with that the others have said. But I will add that recently its been starting to warm up in the UK and the weather is doing stange things to my snakes. Its putting the royals off food and making the males corns roam constantly for females etc. The start of summer does the strangest things to snakes :p

You're right about the weather. Great, isn't it? I can live with her being weird just as long as she doesn't start throwing up her fuzzies. Thanks for the input. I guess I was just being a clucky mum.
