Recommended Thermostat

I am building a snake rack and am trying to decide on what proportional thermostat to purchase. I am deciding between the Helix DBS-1000(~$139) and the Herpstat($109). I have read that the Herpstat is the best so I am wanting to know, which one should I get? Let me know your preferences!

I was just in the same position as you are.

I have read great things on both, but several complaints on the Helix lately. Some say they have gotten so "big" that quality control might have gotten a bit lax.

I bought the Herpstat.

I have nine, I think, Herpstats. I've never had a problem with any of them. I like the ND model because it has high/low alarms. Herpstat has excellent customer service.

I haven't used it yet. Still in the process of building my rack.

I saved a bit and didn't get the ND, but if you have the funds the extra features, like Nanci said, are probably worth it.
