regurge and shedding

I fed my snake, then not realizing that he is in the beginning of a shed,he regurgitated his meal, I was worried by this then I noticed he shed a few days later.I guess my question is, is that a normal reaction when eating before a shed?

Sometimes that happens when snakes are in shed. However, it has never happened with any of my 4 snakes, and two of them eat regardless of shed-phase. I would make sure your temps are in the correct range, and that the water is being changed regularly and all the other husbandry stuff is right just to make sure its not something you did (inadvertantly, of course). Make sure you wait 10 days before you try to feed again to give his gut time to recover. Hopefully this is a one time thing.

Also, it doesn't hurt to drop down a size on the mice your feeding so the next meal will be easier to digest. Hope all goes better with the next feeding :)

I haven't had a problems yet. I feed mine right through the shedding process. But... all snake are different like us, so the shed could be the cause for the regurge. :shrugs: You have to due a search on the subject or wait for more replies. What were the temps? And was the size to big maybe? Was the snake under stress?? There is also a great section under the FAQ development forum with steps to take on regurges and other great information too. That all I can say for now.

Get back to us on anything new. :santa:
