Regurges, refusals, and hand feeding

I got my king about 4 weeks ago and have been having feeding issues. I'm not necessarily looking for answers, but I just want to share. The day after I got her she regurged. After a week, I gave feeding a try, but she refused. A few days later I offered her a pink. I soon realized I should have cut the pink down in size because she regurged the following day. At this point, I discovered Kathy's regurge treatment in the forums. After waiting 8 days, I tried feeding her just the head of a pink, but she showed no interest. Before giving up, I picked her up and wiggled the head in her face. She jumped for it so quickly that I was startled. It's been a week today, and I attempted feeding again; this time with a pink sliced vertically. Like last week, she showed no interest. I even used tongs and wiggled it in front of her. Finally I picked her up, put it to her face and she dove right in.

She's so skinny that i can see her backbone running from about her midpoint to her tail. I figured a snake in this condition would be inactive, but she's constantly on the move in her viv. I'll continue to feed her in the fashion I have been trying and only resort to the hand feeding if she shows no interest. In the meantime I'll pray that she keeps this meal down.

I don't see anything wrong with hand feeding your baby if she likes it that way. Did you get any Nutribac for her? It sure wouldn't hurt. If this stays down, I'd to with the vertically sliced pink again, in five days. You don't want her to starve, but you really, really, really don't want her to regurge again. So I'd stay very conservative on the prey size for a while. How much does she weigh?

She was 12g 4 weeks ago and I haven't weighed her since. By the looks of her, I would guess about 8 or 9g.

So my baby that regurged a whole pink was 13 grams when that happened. He's had two halves, now, and I think I might go one more round of two halves before going to the tiniest pink I can find. The pink he regurged wasn't huge, though, maybe 2 grams? He has only dropped to 12 grams, though.
