Regurigitated!

Ah, darn. I decided to do some maintenence on my young corn snakes tank, since I noticed it had already defecated 2 times near it's hide. I opened the tank and attempted to scoop up the area, but at the last second I realized the little corn was burrowed under the aspen, right below the area he pooped, and I was pinning him down with the scooper. D: This apparently scared it pretty bad since I gave him no warning I was there, I was almost certain it was in the opposite hide. Anyways, He regurged a partially digested pinkie, one of the two that it had last monday. I felt pretty bad, but the little guy seems unharmed and returned to his warm hide. I'm a little worried though, but I'm wondering if there's something I should do, since from what I've heard, regurgitations are really bad. I won't handle him until next feeding time, but when should that be? Should I try again monday, it's usual feeding day?

Since he did this out of fright I would imagine the protocol for the regurge may be different but don't quote me on that! I would still give him ten days before next feeding him and put nutriback on the pinkie (just give him one that is slit really well, or even half of one). That is just what I would do, others may have better advise for you. I only ever had one regurge, and that was before I found this forum, so my baby only waited another week before going again but was okay.

I'm not sure where I would get nutriback, or if my parents would let me spend anymore of my money. He's normally pretty healthy and a ravenous eater, so would it just be ok to slit the pinky without an additive? I'll wait a week and see how hungry he is...

Wait the 10 days before feeding again and then feed a meal at least half the size of a normal meal or smaller. If he keeps it down, then feed again as scheduled using the same size meal as before, move up to a 3/4 size meal for the 3rd and 4th feeding and then go back to normal meals. Aso, keep a close watch to make sure he hasn't regurged that 2nd pinky over the next 48 hours.

I know Kathy Love sells the nutriback on her websight. I'm going to get some as soon as I get some xtra $$ just in case I ever need it so I have it on hand. I think it's 11-12$ or so.

I got mine from Bean Farm! I had feed my lil snow a slightly too big of a fuzzie I believe! He regurged it! I followed Kathy Loves regurge plan and happy to say Piglet is back on track!
