Reptile Decor

SHAKSNAKE

The crappy keeper!
I'm considering getting some extra decor for my corn. a cave to be exact. Medium sizes run from roughly 10-14 inches Wide to 6- 10 Long. can those medium sized caves and such house adult corns?

also, does anyone have any decor to recommend?
thanks!

Corns like cozy. The medium sizes will work nicely. Mine like ones like these:

only the ones I have are smoother & have a smaller opening. This is a terrible picture of the ones I have:

If you are a DIYer, get a suitable clay pot & enlarge the drain hole with a dremel tool & that will make your snake very happy too.

Edit: Mine like empty kleenex boxes A LOT. Several have empty coffee can hides they love, a smaller coffee can (1 lb or less), make sure it isn't the kind you open with a can opener (sharp edges!), cut a cornsnake sized hole in the lid. If you want to make it more attractive, sandpaper the surface so paint will adhere and paint the can with nontoxic paints and spray waterproofing spray on it, then let dry & put in the viv.

My Evie is 4'5", 520 grams and has plenty of room in her ExoTerra Large cave/hide! I bought it at PetCo. You'd be amazed at how well they can fit into smaller places. Keep in mind that they like to feel secure.

I love the exo-terra caves mentioned above...we have the smallest size for our hatchlings right now, but they have larger sizes. Our adolescent girl was too big for one of those, but she absolutely loves the round cork hide we'd picked up (the little one wouldn't go in it...even though it said it was small, it's quite large and roomy, so I'm sure he wasn't feeling terribly secure.)

I check PetSmart every so often cause i bought a cave that was normally 20 dollars, on sale for $12. They have sales all the time

I know this isn't my thread and I hope the OP doesn't mind me asking this question but are they easy to clean when they poop on them? This is the main reason I use mostly cardboard hides from around the house like toothpaste boxes, paper towel rolls, and plastic containers. My corns seem to love them!

SUPER easy to clean!

you can just plop it in the dishwasher after you do a little hand cleaning to make sure its sanitary, i love them

Okay, they're kind of dorky, but my snakes love these and they're really cheap. Scrub them a little and they come clean.

thanks to all. i ended up taking a big omega bottle and cutting out the bottom. made a sort of tunnel out of it thru the substrate.

@Karoni: We looked at the coconut shells...unfortunately, they only had one at the time, and I wanted to buy matching hides. I look every time I go to the pet store, but they haven't gotten any more in :/

I had one for one of my snakes for awhile. She loved it and still kept trying to fit in it even when it was obvious that she had outgrown it. Kind of like a little kid and the blanket they don't want to let go LOL

Coconut Hides

I found those Crab Shacks at PetCo for $7 ea.
I found the Dome Home by T-Rex at PetSmart today for $3 each
