reptile shows in the UK

Corndude, are you a member of any UK forums? Try Livefood.co.uk and reptilecrazy.co.uk. they have whole sections dedicated to upcoming events and such like. usually, show details are released very last minute so as to prevent 'attacks' from the anit's and *usually* the shows don't sell any herps. Could be wrong, but visit the UK forums for more info on that. :)

They don't only protest, they can do some serious damage. Didn't you know people protest at things like Fox hunts, outside abortion clinics, at medical labs??

do i have ou in my msn? i would like to hear about up coming shows even if it means privatly on msn.
i can understand them protesting about careless keepers, people who buy pes from shops without knowing a thing about them. but if you are a good keeper, you are giving them regurlar (safe) meals, keeping preditors away and keeping them altogether safe. tell me the harm in that please.

My msn is buggered just now but I'll pm you my address anyway (I can email you if I get any news!)

And yeah, you should go visit the Animal Aid website (animalaid.co.uk) if you feel like getting angry. They have completely unfounded arguments. Maybe the cause started out as a good one but it has escalated and is just ridiculous now! I'm not just talking about their reptile campaign either...arab horse breeding is apparantly cruel now too! Bunch of vegetable eating hippies! *grrrr* The guy who founded the thing used to deal exotics (badly might I add) and has now been banned. Little kid taking a strop too far me thinks...

I just had a look at that Animal Aid website.

Ok , so they have one or two good arguements ie Fox Hunting etc. I even agree with their campaign to stop Focus from selling reptiles as I think that could lead to far too many "impulse purchases" which would lead to a lot of neglected animals ... BUT .. most of what I read on there is total claptrap.

My local reptile shop wont sell you an animal until youve passed an "exam" on it. If your a first time buyer , he wont let you buy the animal there and then .. you have to go away and come back and then answer questions on its particular requirements and theres no way he will sell you an animal he thinks is out of your league. How many impulse buys has this stopped? Does this sound like he`s only in it for the money? I dont think so.

Have they ever read the likes of this forum and seen the amount of research people do to make sure their animals are as well looked after as they can be? I can think of at least 2 people on this forum who , right now are finding out just about all they can BEFORE they go and buy what they want. How many dog owners do that? Ok , maybe some , but not as many. Grrr *rant*
