As I type this, my eyes are filled with tears. My lovely Lavender King Snake named Godric has died.

He was doing great too. But he regurged his last meal while I was asleep and was dead when I woke up today. The mouse I fed him was a little bit smaller than he should've had because that was the closest one to his size mouse that the pet store had.

I'm so sorry Godric  I'll miss you.

Here's the last pic I took of him.

thank you all. He was such a sweetie of a snake too. A little nippy at times lol, but overall a sweetheart. I wish I could've had a pic of the time he tried to crawl up my nose lol. Ahhh, such memories.

But anyways, thank you all. And I wanted to ask you all if you thought it weird of me to hold a funeral. Because he was more than just a pet snake, he was family. My wife cried her eyes out, and still is really.

I don't think it is weird at all. You should do what you feel like you need to do. I know when it goes to my pets, I think of them as my children since I do not have any human children.

It's just that I loved him so much. I have a child ( 16 month old son named Thomas, and there's nothing on this planet I love more than him ) and he seems to like watching all of our snakes when they're crawling around in their cages. He seemed to especially enjoy Godric more than the others. Maybe it was just because he was out more than the others I don't know. But I honestly feel that we lost family.

I'm going to have a small service for him in my home, and bury him in my backyard, with a homemade headstone.

Godric, we miss and love you.

I am very sorry for your loss. When we lost a snake early this year, we had a little service and buried him. I think it helped me feel better.

Aw I am so sorry to hear what happen.
I don't think it's weird to do funeral, I did made
a small funeral with my beardie when she sadly passed away
few months ago, and I buried her then put large stone on top, so
I can know where I buried her.
