Rosy Boa babies!

Jynx

Digger, RN
Finally! Sedona really held onto these guys for a while. I was starting to get a tad worried about her, but Mama knows best :) She had a lovely litter of 5 babies sometime between 10pm yesterday and 10pm today. All are doing well, and are quite spunky for Rosy Boas. They are Lake Elsinore locality Boas from LTC parents (Sedona & Killian).

I have NO idea where my camera is... more than likely still in a box somewhere. So, I apologize but you guys get crappy cell phone pics. I'll dig in the garage for my camera tomorrow and try to update them soon.

:D < - is a VERY happy Catherine right now!

Methinks that little guy in the middle will be a handful :)

That's awesome! Congrats, Jynx. I love little rosy boas. I can't wait to breed mygracia girl...

Wow, cute little baby squishies!! Congratulations Catherine, tell Momma she did good!

I'm looking forward to the update pics when you find your camera, so get digging! ;)

Awww, they are super cute! I know who to bug with newbie questions when mine are ready to breed!

Thanks guys! Mama indeed did good. I was just surprised at how big these babies were! I was expecting tiny little worms, but apparently Sedona doesn't do tiny babies. I only wish I could've seen the birth.

Carol - These aren't like breeding normal boas. Just treat them like North American colubrids; brumate them and then put them together in the spring. They seem to do the rest. If your female is anything like mine though, she'll psych you out. Sedona kept eating up until the end. As a matter of fact, she ate last on Saturday.

Chris - I can't wait for that pretty girl to breed! Are you going to search that area for a male, or do you already have different plans in mind?

They are sooo adorable, Catherine! They ARE big! I was stunned to receive one of Dean's at 3 days old...I couldn't believe the size. She weighed 25.7 g. She's my favorite of my collection.

Congratulations on your new beauties.

Awwww, cute little Rosy worms!!! The feisty one is definitely the best, though! Rosies are sooo amazing... I'm envious. Lol. Congrats!!! =)

Well, couldn't find the good camera but I did find the old Powershot. So, these are the best I could do. They are just so darn cute! Can't remember a time when I thought a baby herp was this cute. :)

Thanks for looking!

Are they eating already, Catherine? They ARE so beautiful!!! Such cute little faces!! :)

Not yet. I'm a firm believer of waiting until after the 1st shed. I'm sure they are all sorts of discombobulated right now, and I'd like to give some kind of feeling of security before I shove food in their face. For now, they are all settled into their own seperate bins and are just starting to go opaque. I'm a bit apprehensive for their 1st few feedings. IIRC, Rosys can be quite difficult to start on mice.

I'll let you know when they do though!
