Rotting egg?

Thickthroat

New member
These eggs were laid about 6 days ago. I accidently flipped them over upside down when I picked them up to take them out of her laybox to the incubator after she laid them so could it just be dead? The spot didn't look this bad the day she laid them and it's just got worse since. Do you know what's wrong with it? And Is there anything I can do?

The first picture is the day after she laid and the rest is what the egg looks like now, 5 days later.

I would just continue to incubate as it may be nothing. Eggs can look really bad, rotten and moldy on the outside and be just fine on the inside, hatching out a perfectly healthy snake.

I'd feel bad if I found out somehow that I had junked an egg that "looked" bad but wasn't. Not sure how I would find out other than I might be temped to open it and see how it looked inside, but still. I heard of someone hatching one of those 1/64's from an egg that was stuck to the clutch but appeared to be a slug. So you really never know.
