I bought my Red Tailed Green Rat Snake back in October and was asked for a progression thread. I figured now that it has been a few months, I could start one.

Still in her bag from shipping

Yesterday (February 5th), I moved her to her new tall enclosure and she was fed. I cut the ends off two large tubs and glued them together to make this. It originally sat horizontally and I used it for my tegu, but I don't have him anymore unfortunately. I cut a new hole in the top for her light and now she is enjoying it. The lids on the front are not exactly convenient, but she is very active and I wanted to give her more vertical space.

She's probably my favorite snake, but shes not a huge fan of me.

Very nice! That's a really neat looking snake... I don't know much about them, to be honest. I couldn't figure out what "RTGR" was for the life of me...

Thanks for sharing!

WOW!!!! Beautiful snakeling, I LOOOOOVE that bright blue tongue! That species doesn't take well to handling, right? Shame, if they did that'd be around my neck 24/7. Nice to see some animals in this board again :0

Thanks for all the nice comments.

The enclosure was really simple. I needed a larger enclosure for my tegu and I'm a cheap college student, so I went this route. I used a soldering iron to cut the ends off two large tubs and then glued them together overlapping. It made more sense horizontally, but I figured it could work vertically as well.

She is alright being handled if you don't mind a little musk. She's almost guaranteed to bite me when I try to remove her from her enclosure, but once out, she's fine. She's very quick though and doesn't sit still much. I handle her in hopes that she will calm down before she gets 6 or 7 feet long.

She shed two days ago. I noticed her beginning to shed as I was leaving for class. I only had time to take a quick photo and it turned out pretty crappy. Sorry for the terrible quality.
