Do the rubbermaid 6 quart tubs work for baby corns and milk snakes with no escapes or do i need clips to hold the lid down? if you use these for baby's could you post pics that would help thanks.

I have a larger one that is more like a 5 gal rubermade box and I do use 1" binder clips but that is for a small yearling corn I have. My opinion is if you can put a clip on one of those. Go ahead and put a couple there because snakes; regardless of how content they may be, will always find a way to escape if they can.

I've found that yes, the do hold okay and don't allow escapes. However, not all 6 quart tubs are the same. Always always make sure you know the tub is escape proof. If that means adding locks or clips or just putting a phone book on top to add some weight then great. Do it.

I either lost one or counted wrong in a 6 qt the other day. I'm leaning toward a miscount (10 little hatchlings can be hard to count), but I can't be sure. They were the ones from Target with little built in clips on both sides.

I use the 6qt Sterilite shoe-boxes. No escapees in 4 years of breeding. No extra clips or what-not.
