hi guys, i've purchased that baby redtail that i was talking about in a previous post ( $150 in case anyone was wondering). will post a pic of the cutie when i can =)
A few questions..rubbermaids : i assume you guys are talking about large plastic tubs? what kinds of heaters do you use with it, that wont melt the plastic? i've only been able to find those corded heaters, any other variations?
also, about my boid, is there any way to tell the sex w/o probing? unfortunately the store i purchased it from wasnt able to tell me the sex. and lastly, quarentine proceedures. Standard 3 months? i've heard it should be a little longer for boids, true? false?

Thanks ,
drey

I would do longer for boids due to the risk of Inclusion Body Disease (IBD) which can take many months to show up sometimes.

When I have used rubbermaid tubs it has been in a rack and so I bought one with the heat cord in it. Sorry I don't know the best way of heating an individual tub.

Looking forward to seeing a picture - they are beautiful snakes

a good way to heat an indivual tub would be with eight Flexwat tape (if you have the money for it) with a thermostat, or, you could use a UTH set to lower temps. I have heard of both of these being used.
