woke up this morning to find the second of our remaining eggs was pipping .... then i realised that there was something rather strange about the little tike..... his head and his tail was popping out when i looked closer i realised the little ones mouth was open and he had bitten through his tail and was dead.... it was only last night i was on here and i read a post about a snake that had done the exact same and i thought that this must be a rare occurence... obviously not! im absolutely gutted what a set back!

the little one who emerged the other day in which i posted a thread about is doing fine though which is a good point.

hope the last egg is going to be a surviver!
 
Oh that is sad :( I guess there are just so many things that can go wrong in those first few moments..

Glad the other guy/gal is doing well and we'll keep all our fingers crossed for your last egg!

Murphy has made a lot of stops this year. I hope that he doesn't stop here because my eggs will be pipping in the next few days...
 
Oh Becky, I'm so sorry! I'm glad your other one is doing well, and I hope the last egg contains another healthy hatchling for you. It's awful to lose one like that. (I just did.)
