Safe Wood Finishes

Hi. I'm building a large wood tank for my anery boy, and I was wondering if anyone knew what wood finishes would be ok for the inside of the tank. With snakes' respiritory systems so sensitive to fumes and odors, I'm terrified to finish it without some expert advice. If it says non toxic, or safe for kids, is it ok for a snake? Also, tips for building a tank, would be sweet! Any input would help. Thanks alot, fellow corn lovers.

Although I've yet to own a snake, I would safe after a curing time of about a week I would assume it's safe although a fan blowing in the room might be a safe bet to keep up air circulation. Again never being a snake owner and new tithe hobby, I wouldn't take my opinion for it, I've built furniture but never anything with an animal in it.
